Designed with a 1/2” thick HDPE plastic base, these pads are lighter in weight than our aluminum pads, but still strong and stiff enough for a J22 or J24! These pads won't rust, mildew, or rot. Though not as permanent as the Aluminum pads, they should last 10+ years.
The foam on these pads is our custom U/V resistant foam, and being closed cell, does not retain water - meaning it will not hold water against the hull like carpet does . Kablooey foam also conforms to the curve of the hull and so cradles the hull so no hard spots are created, all without leaving any marks or scratches.
These Pads will turn heads right when you show up at regattas. People will be constantly asking, "Where did you get those?" You simply reply with, "Kablooey LLC of course, silly goose." Your sailing opponents will be amazed with the speed and glistening smoothness of your boat hull!
Comes with standard 7 inch and 7.25 inch bolt hole patterns that fit most trailers - & can be easily modified if required. Two 18-8 stainless steel 1/4-20 socket head cap screws, with washers and complimentary hex key are also included. Since the screws are not longer than the pad is thick, they will never stick through and scratch your hull, even as the foam wears away.

Original J70 Trailers all came with carpet stapled on wooden strakes (Blech!). The carpet is abrasive, and holds water against the hull - not what you want. Having the right bunk foam is essential. Kablooey foam is our DX style denser 4LB foam, with a super adhesive backing - you can stick it right over existing carpet, or mount directly to the original wood strakes if you like. There has been some talk of making an all in one replacement strake and foam combination - if that is an interest you have, please let us know!
For now, get some of our dense bunk foam - you wont have to wonder on that downwind reach if your hull is maybe a little dirty or scratched from your trailer bunk - you will be able to focus on the competition, content knowing the hull is safe and sound with Kablooey foam!

11.5” x 11.5” x 2” thick, our heavy duty foam is perfect for heavier trailered boats, like J105’s and J80’s! High density closed cell foam, with plenty of density to stand up to the heavier loads, but is still a water repellant closed cell foam - so it will not retain water or keep water against the hull, all while keeping your smooth hull super smooth!
